Consistency vs Obsession: The Fine Line Between Growth and Burnout / 꾸준함 vs 집착 — 오래 가는 힘은 무엇인가
Consistency and obsession can look very similar at first.
Both wake up early.
Both show up every day.
Both care deeply.
But over time, they create completely different lives.
Consistency is steady.
Obsession is intense.
Consistency builds.
Obsession consumes.
At one point, I thought pushing harder was always the answer.
More practice.
More focus.
More effort.
Especially in golf, I believed that if I just tried harder,
I would get better faster.
But something felt off.
The more I pushed myself,
the more I lost the joy.
The swing became tight.
The mind became heavy.
결국 깨달았다.
꾸준함과 집착은
겉으로는 비슷하지만, 완전히 다른 에너지라는 것을.
Consistency is quiet.
It doesn’t demand perfect results every day.
It allows mistakes.
It accepts slow progress.
But it never stops.
Obsession is loud.
It wants immediate results.
It fears failure.
It pushes beyond limits — even when the body and mind are tired.
And that’s when things start to break.
요즘 나는 조금 다르게 살아보려고 한다.
골프 연습도,
일도,
일상의 작은 습관도
“더 많이”가 아니라
“더 오래 갈 수 있는 방식”으로.
When I practice now, I don’t try to fix everything in one day.
I just show up.
I swing.
I feel.
And I leave before I lose my rhythm.
That’s consistency.
Obsession would have made me stay longer,
hit more balls,
force more changes.
But consistency tells me —
“enough for today.”
인생도 결국 비슷한 것 같다.
집착은 빠르게 타오르지만
쉽게 지치고,
꾸준함은 느리지만
결국 더 멀리 간다.
Consistency is not about doing more.
It’s about doing just enough — every day.
Not perfectly.
But continuously.
Maybe real growth doesn’t come from how hard we push,
but from how long we can keep going.
