I'm Ready... Because
Today was supposed to be a nine-hole golf day.
The weather forecast, however, had different plans. Rain was on its way, so I stayed home instead.
Surprisingly, I didn't feel disappointed.
My younger sister had brought me some fresh potatoes and vegetables, so I made potato pancakes, boiled an egg, and enjoyed a glass of tomato juice. After breakfast, I made myself a small iced café latte and quietly sat down to write.
It already felt like a wonderful morning.
Then I stepped outside.
For more than a week now, three or four beautiful white butterflies have been visiting my yard every day.
They flutter gently from flower to flower, enjoying the colorful blossoms without a care in the world.
Of course, I know their caterpillars have been very busy.
They almost finished one section of my vegetable garden.
A few years ago, I probably would have been frustrated.
Today, I simply smiled.
Maybe the caterpillars were hungry.
Maybe the butterflies are simply living the life they were meant to live.
Watching them, I realized something.
I'm ready because my own life has quietly changed.
First, I have settled into my golf swing.
For quite a while, I struggled with it. Every round felt like another lesson, and I didn't have much room in my mind to enjoy the people around me.
Now my swing feels reliable enough that I can laugh, joke, and simply enjoy playing golf with others again.
Second, my priorities have changed.
For many years, building my career and earning money naturally came first.
That was the right priority for that season of my life.
Now that I'm 61, I no longer feel that pressure.
These days, I would rather spend my time taking care of my health, playing golf, swimming, enjoying good conversations, and appreciating ordinary mornings like this one.
Finally, I have simplified my relationships.
For a long time, I met many people simply out of habit.
Over the past few years, I have learned to stay close to the people who truly matter while letting unnecessary relationships fade naturally.
My life has become lighter.
Standing quietly in my yard, watching those white butterflies, I suddenly understood why I feel different these days.
Nothing extraordinary happened.
There was no single turning point.
It was simply the result of many small choices made over many years.
A steadier golf swing.
Better health.
Clearer priorities.
A simpler life.
And perhaps that's why a rainy morning, a homemade breakfast, a small iced café latte, and a few white butterflies are enough to make me smile.
I'm ready.
Not because everything is perfect.
I'm simply ready to enjoy the life I already have.
KR Summary
"Welcome! Here, you'll find easy golf English and real conversations. Enjoy your journey, one story at a time."
