Golf Is Like Marriage (마음대로 되지 않는 것들)

Golf is funny sometimes.

The more you try to control it,
the less it listens to you.

Just like a husband.
Just like a wife.

We joke about this often on the course—
“Golf is just like your spouse. It never goes the way you want.”😁🤣

You prepare, you plan,
you think today will be different.
But the ball has its own idea.

Sometimes it goes perfectly,
and you feel like you finally understand everything.

And then, the very next hole,
nothing works.

골프는 내 마음대로 되지 않는다.
그래서 더 재미있다.😂

Marriage feels similar.

You don’t control the other person.
You learn them,
you adjust,
you let go a little.

And somehow,
in that process,
you find rhythm.

완벽하게 맞추려고 하면 오히려 더 어긋난다.
조금 내려놓을 때 더 편해진다.

Golf teaches that quietly.

It reminds us that
not everything is meant to be controlled.

Some things are meant to be experienced,
understood,
and sometimes… just accepted.

그래서 골프도, 결혼도
결국은 “함께 가는 것”에 가깝다.

Not perfect.
But real.
