Golf / Connection / Rich & Ruby / Life — A Quiet Gratitude - 감사의 기록
These days, I feel life a little differently.
There was a time when I tried harder—
to improve my golf swing more,
to find the right people,
to fill something that felt missing.
But now, strangely, as I let go, everything feels lighter.
Golf has been teaching me the same lesson.
When I tried to control my swing, it became tense.
But when I let it flow—trusting my body, my rhythm—
the shots became more natural, and often, better.
Life feels similar.
The more I try to force things, the more they resist.
The more I allow, the more they align.
On the course, we play as four.
But in truth, each of us plays our own game.
There’s no need for constant conversation.
Each player quietly chooses their club, trusts their own distance,
and steps into their shot in silence.
When someone hits a good shot,
we simply say, “Nice shot,” “Nice on,” “Nice putt.”
Nothing more is needed.
And when someone makes a mistake,
we don’t point it out.
We don’t analyze it.
We simply turn back to our own shot,
as if we didn’t see it at all.
There is respect in that silence.
There is kindness in that space.
No pressure. No interference.
Just quiet understanding.
Lately, the deepest sense of connection in my life
comes not from people, but from my time with Rich and Ruby.
Early in the morning, before the world wakes up,
I let them off the leash.
Ruby stays close, always moving around me,
while Rich runs freely, exploring the distance.
Yet when it’s time to go,
he comes back on his own.
I walk my path.
They live their freedom within it.
We are not tied,
but we are never apart.
At home, it’s the same.
Ruby understands my rhythm.
She stays near without interrupting,
waits without asking,
and gently lets me know when she needs something.
No noise. No pressure.
Just presence.
These moments make me reflect on human relationships.
Why do we talk so much?
Why do we try to change each other?
What I seek now is simple:
A relationship where
we live our own lives well,
without interference,
yet connect naturally when it matters.
Not holding on, but not drifting away.
Not demanding, but understanding.
Maybe I already knew this all along.
Through golf.
Through Rich and Ruby.
So these days,
instead of trying to add more to my life and golf,
I focus on what I have now.
The quiet morning air,
the sound of paws running freely,
and a connection that needs no words.
That is enough.
And for that, I am grateful.
KR Summary
