2026 PGA TOUR Championship 2R Result - Cameron Young’s Solo 62, Scottie’s Work Ethic, and What Golf Keeps Teaching Me ⛳️

The second round of the 2026 TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club is over.

And what a day it was!

The leaderboard changed dramatically, but more than the scores, a few moments really caught my attention.

⛳️Cameron Young — What a Day!

Cameron Young was the first player to tee off this morning — all by himself.

No playing partner.
Just Cameron Young and his golf.

And he shot an incredible 8-under 62.

Even more impressive, he finished his round with an eagle on the 18th hole.

After making the eagle, he jokingly shook hands with his imaginary playing partner. 😂

I watched that moment, and he looked so relaxed.

No partner. No pressure. Just golf.

Starting the day at even par, Young moved all the way up to T5 at 8-under par.

Sometimes golf gives us the most interesting stories when we least expect them.

⛳️Ryan Gerard Takes the Lead

Ryan Gerard played another excellent round and finished at 10-under par, taking the solo lead after 36 holes.

Behind him:

T2 Chris Gotterup — -9
T5 Cameron Young — -8
T5 Scottie Scheffler — -8

The race is getting very interesting with 36 holes still to play.

⛳️Scottie Scheffler — Even the Best Keep Working

Scottie Scheffler finished the second round at 8-under par, only two shots behind the leader.

But what impressed me wasn't only his score.

After the round, he went back to work.

He continued working on his game with his team and coaches, and he also took time to interact with young fans and sign autographs.

That reminded me of something very simple:

Even the world's best players never stop learning.

Being No. 1 doesn't mean you have nothing left to improve.

It means you keep looking for ways to get better.

Talent may make you great, but continuous effort keeps you there.

⛳️And Then I Thought About DeChambeau…

Bryson DeChambeau is one of the most famous long hitters in golf, but he isn't in this year's TOUR Championship field.

That made me think about something I have learned from golf:

Distance is important, but distance alone isn't enough.

You need distance, accuracy, approach shots, putting, strategy, patience, and a strong mind.

The longest hitter doesn't always win.

Golf is much more complicated — and much more interesting — than simply hitting the ball far.

⛳️Adam Scott — Experience Still Matters

Another player I was happy to see near the top is Adam Scott.

The veteran is still playing excellent golf against a field full of younger stars.

Experience matters.

Sometimes youth brings energy, while experience brings patience and perspective.

Golf needs both.

Min Woo Lee — T5, -5 (Korean-Australian)
Tom Kim — T15, -5
Si Woo Kim — T23, -3

Min Woo Lee had started the tournament with an amazing 62 and the solo lead, so it was interesting to see him fight through a difficult second round and remain inside the top group.

And I was also happy to see Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim continuing to compete strongly in the season-ending event.

What Golf Taught Me Today

Watching today's round, I found myself thinking about more than golf scores.

Cameron Young showed me relaxation.

Scottie Scheffler showed me discipline and continuous improvement.

Adam Scott showed me experience.

DeChambeau reminded me that one strength alone is never enough.

And the entire leaderboard reminded me that golf can change very quickly.

I have been a work in progress.

I'm willing to learn something new, and I can improve myself.

Maybe that's one of the reasons I love golf so much.

The game keeps teaching me something new.

And tomorrow, we swing again. ⛳️

2026 TOUR Championship — After Round 2

2026 TOUR Championship 2라운드가 끝났다.

오늘은 단순히 순위와 스코어보다 골프 선수들의 모습에서 몇 가지 재미있는 장면이 눈에 들어왔다.

Cameron Young — 혼자 출발해서 62타!

오늘 가장 재미있었던 선수는 단연 Cameron Young이었다.

그는 2라운드에서 가장 먼저 티오프했고, J.J. Spaun의 기권으로 혼자 플레이했다.

동반자 없이 혼자 자신의 리듬으로 18홀을 돌았는데,

8언더파 62타!

그리고 마지막 18번 홀에서는 이글까지 기록했다.

나는 그 장면을 직접 봤는데, 이글을 넣은 후 혼자서 보이지 않는 동반자와 악수를 하는 듯한 제스처를 하는 모습이 너무 재미있었다. 😂

그런데 무엇보다 여유 있어 보였다.

No partner. No pressure. Just golf.

혼자 치는 것이 오히려 자신의 골프에 집중하는 데 도움이 되었을까?

골프는 정말 재미있는 게임이다.

Ryan Gerard는 2라운드까지 10언더파로 단독 선두에 올랐다.

그 뒤를 이어

Scottie Scheffler — 세계 1위도 계속 연습한다

Scottie Scheffler도 2라운드를 좋은 위치에서 마쳤다.

그런데 내가 더 인상 깊게 본 것은 라운드가 끝난 후의 모습이었다.

그는 경기를 마친 뒤 바로 연습장으로 가서 코치들과 함께 자신의 샷을 점검하고 있었다.

그리고 어린 팬들에게 친절하게 사인을 해주는 모습도 보였다.

세계 1위라고 해서 모든 것이 완벽한 것은 아니다.

오히려 세계 최고이기 때문에 계속 자신의 문제를 찾고, 고치고, 연습하는 것 같다.

천재적인 재능만으로 세계 1위가 될 수는 없다.
재능에 꾸준한 노력과 연습이 함께해야 한다.

이것은 골프뿐 아니라 인생에서도 똑같은 것 같다.

그리고 Bryson DeChambeau

한 가지 재미있는 생각도 들었다.

골프에서 장타 하면 떠오르는 선수 중 한 명이 바로 Bryson DeChambeau다.

하지만 이번 TOUR Championship에는 DeChambeau가 없다.

그러면서 다시 생각하게 된다.

골프에서 장타는 중요하지만, 장타만으로는 충분하지 않구나.

거리뿐 아니라 정확성, 아이언샷, 어프로치, 퍼팅, 코스 매니지먼트, 그리고 멘탈까지 모두 필요하다.

멀리 치는 것이 골프의 전부는 아니다.

골프가 재미있는 이유다.

노장 Adam Scott도 Top 10

그리고 반가운 이름이 하나 더 있다.

Adam Scott.

젊은 선수들이 가득한 TOUR Championship에서 노장 Adam Scott도 좋은 위치에서 경쟁하고 있다.

젊음에는 에너지가 있고,

경험에는 여유와 지혜가 있다.

골프에서는 둘 다 필요하다.

그리고 Tom Kim과 Si Woo Kim도 시즌 마지막 무대에서 계속 좋은 경기를 보여주고 있다.

오늘 골프를 보면서

오늘은 단순히 선수들의 스코어만 보이지 않았다.

Cameron Young에게서는 여유를 보았고,

Scottie Scheffler에게서는 노력과 꾸준함을 보았다.

Adam Scott에게서는 경험의 힘을 보았다.

그리고 DeChambeau를 생각하면서는

“한 가지 강점만으로는 충분하지 않다.”

는 것을 다시 생각했다.

나 역시 아직 a work in progress다.

나는 새로운 것을 배우는 것을 좋아하고,

I'm willing to learn something new, and I can improve myself.

골프도 그렇고 인생도 그렇다.

완성되는 것이 아니라,

계속 배우면서 조금씩 나아가는 것.

그래서 나는 골프가 좋다.
