🌱 My Biggest Project of the Year Is Complete! - 🌱 올해 가장 큰 프로젝트가 드디어 완료!!

Today, I completed my biggest project of the year. 🌱

It wasn't a golf tournament.
It wasn't a work project.

It was my winter vegetable garden. 😂

Jeju has relatively mild winters, so many vegetables can grow outdoors without freezing. If I plant winter cabbage, young cabbage, lettuce, and other vegetables in the fall, I can enjoy fresh vegetables from my own garden throughout the winter.

So, I finally completed everything I had planned.

A week ago, I cleaned up the entire garden.

Three days ago, I spent two full hours turning over the soil with a shovel. I was sweating so much that I felt like I had just come out of a sauna. 😂

And honestly, I loved it.

Yesterday, I went to the local market and bought all the seeds and seedlings I needed.

This morning, after walking my dogs, I looked at my garden and said:

“Ready to go!” 🌱

Then I spent another two hours planting everything according to my plan.

Project complete! ✅

Now I am already looking forward to the long winter ahead.

I can imagine myself walking into the garden, picking fresh lettuce or cabbage, and bringing it straight to my kitchen.

There is something very satisfying about growing your own food.

And after more than 10 years of trial and error, I think I can finally call myself a little garden expert. 😂

I tried this.
I tried that.
Some things grew beautifully.
Some things… absolutely did not. 😂

But that is how I learned.

Experience is sometimes just a collection of failed experiments.

Now the hard work is done.

The garden is ready.
The vegetables are planted.

All I need to do now is give them sunshine, water, and a little patience.

And hopefully, in a few months…

my garden will be full of green. 🌱🥬

And I will happily eat what I grew with my own hands.

That sounds like a pretty good winter to me. 😊

오늘 올해 가장 큰 프로젝트 하나를 완성했다. 🌱

골프 대회도 아니고,
일과 관련된 프로젝트도 아니다.

바로 겨울 텃밭 프로젝트! 😂

제주는 겨울에도 비교적 따뜻해서 많은 채소들이 밖에서 얼지 않고 겨울을 날 수 있다. 그래서 가을에 겨울배추, 얼갈이, 상추 등을 심어두면 겨울 내내 내가 직접 키운 싱싱한 채소를 먹을 수 있다.

그래서 올해는 내가 계획한 대로 제대로 준비해보기로 했다.

일주일 전에는 텃밭의 묵은 것들을 모두 정리했다.

그리고 3일 전에는 삽을 들고 장장 2시간 동안 땅을 모두 뒤집었다.

구슬땀이 뚝뚝 떨어질 정도로 땀이 나서 정말 사우나에서 나온 사람 같았다. 😂

그런데 이상하게도 그 시간이 참 좋았다.

어제는 오일장에 가서 필요한 씨앗과 모종을 모두 샀다.

그리고 오늘 아침, 강아지 산책을 마치고 텃밭을 바라보며 외쳤다.

“Ready to go!” 🌱

그리고 계획한 대로 다시 2시간 동안 열심히 심었다.

프로젝트 완료! ✅

이제 긴 겨울이 오기를 기다리면 된다.

몇 달 후 텃밭에 나가 싱싱한 상추나 배추를 직접 따서 주방으로 가져오는 모습을 벌써 상상해본다.

내가 먹을 것을 직접 키운다는 것은 생각보다 훨씬 기분 좋은 일이다.

그리고 벌써 10년이 넘는 시행착오를 겪었다.

이것도 심어보고,
저것도 심어보고,

어떤 것은 정말 잘 자랐고,
어떤 것은… 완전히 실패했다. 😂

하지만 그렇게 하나씩 배웠다.

어쩌면 경험이란 실패한 실험들이 하나씩 쌓여 만들어지는 것인지도 모른다.

이제 힘든 일은 끝났다.

텃밭은 준비됐고,
채소도 모두 심었다.

이제 햇빛과 물, 그리고 약간의 인내심만 주면 된다.

그리고 몇 달 후에는…

내 텃밭이 초록빛으로 가득 차 있겠지. 🌱🥬

내 손으로 직접 키운 채소를 따서 맛있게 먹을 생각을 하니 벌써 기분이 좋다.

이 정도면 꽤 멋진 겨울이 될 것 같다. 😊

🌱 Today's Little Thought

10년의 시행착오 끝에
이제는 나도 텃밭 전문가다. 😂

전문 농부는 아니지만,
적어도 내 텃밭에서 무엇이 잘 자라는지는 꽤 잘 아는 사람이 되었다. 🌱

이 마지막 문장이 오늘 글의 포인트인 것 같아.
60살의 삶에서 ‘전문가’가 된다는 게 꼭 직업이나 자격증일 필요는 없잖아.
10년 동안 직접 해보고 실패하고 다시 해본 끝에 얻은 생활의 지혜니까. 😊
