This morning started with a few very ordinary things, but somehow, they made me really happy. 😂
1. Fixing My Golf Watch Band ⛳⌚
Yesterday, while I was playing golf, my golf watch band suddenly came off.
Because it was so hot and I was sweating a lot, I should have wiped the band after playing. But I simply charged the watch and kept using it without thinking much about it.
After about a year, the band finally gave up. 😂
Luckily, it came off right when I was sitting in the golf cart.
Talk about bad luck turning into good luck!
I carefully put it in my golf bag and decided to replace it this morning.
Fortunately, there was an extra band in the box.
But then…
“How am I supposed to replace this?”
YouTube to the rescue!
I put on my glasses and wrestled with it for more than 30 minutes.
And finally…
Done! I replaced it myself! 😂👏
It was such a small thing, but I felt strangely proud of myself.
2. The Six-Meter Clothesline That Was One Meter Too Short 😂
My outdoor clothesline had also gotten old, so it was finally time to replace it.
I ordered a new one, and it arrived by early-morning delivery.
Since it was going to get hot later, I decided to replace it early in the morning.
I thought six meters would obviously be long enough.
But when I actually started installing it…
It was one meter short.
Oops! 😂😂😂
Instead of giving up, I calmly looked at all the connectors.
Then I thought,
“Wait… I can cut off a good section of the old clothesline and connect it to the new one!”
So I did.
A little cutting.
A little connecting.
A little figuring things out.
And…
My new outdoor clothesline was complete! 👏😂
Wow.
Why was this so much fun? 😂
3. A Little Laugh on the Way Home ❤️
Yesterday, after our golf round, three of us drove home together.
The driver is a retired school principal, about five years older than me. He spent many years in education and is normally such a calm, dignified, and gentlemanly person.
He hardly ever jokes.
Then suddenly, an incoming call appeared on the car navigation screen.
I was sitting in the back seat, and the person sitting next to the driver quietly pointed at the screen.
The caller's name was…
❤️ 0-soon-i ❤️
It was his wife. 😂
Because he is normally so dignified and hardly ever jokes, seeing ❤️ 0-soon-i ❤️ on his screen made it even funnier.
We absolutely burst out laughing! 😂😂😂
I tried to keep a straight face and waited until he finished the call.
Then I said,
“Wow, you’re such a romantic!
‘❤️ 0-soon-i ❤️’ is so sweet.
And your wife’s voice sounds so intelligent and elegant. I really like it.”
He looked so happy that he immediately started telling us more wonderful things about his wife.
After listening for a while, I said,
“Wow, you’re really good at teamwork!
Marriage is teamwork, too. 😂
Women find happiness in these little things.
They don’t even cost money, so why not do them more often?
Keep doing it!
You two are doing really well.”
We all laughed together in the car. 😂
So, What Are Today’s Little Joys?
When I think about it, all three stories are actually about the same thing.
A problem happened.
→ I thought about it.
→ I learned.
→ I tried.
→ I solved it.
→ And I had fun.
I learned how to replace my golf watch band by watching YouTube.
When the six-meter clothesline turned out to be one meter too short, I found another way to make it work.
And in the car, I discovered a tiny little sign of love and turned it into a moment of laughter.
Maybe in the past, I would have thought these things were just annoying little problems.
But things are different now.
When new technology comes into my life, I want to learn it.
When I get a new device, I want to figure it out.
When I don't know something, I can ask YouTube or AI.
And when something needs fixing, I can simply try it myself.
Technology doesn’t replace life.
It makes life bigger.
The more things I learn to do by myself, the bigger my world feels.
And most of all…
“Oh, I can do this, too!”
That little moment is surprisingly fun. 😂

A broken watch band.
A six-meter clothesline that was one meter too short.
A little heart in a contact name. ❤️
Nothing extraordinary.
But somehow…
Life feels wonderfully full.
Age goes up.
Curiosity stays.
The brain keeps swinging. 😂⛳🧠

작은 일들이 주는 큰 웃음
오늘 아침은 별것 아닌 일들로 시작했는데, 이상하게 하루가 너무 즐겁다. 😂
1. 골프시계 밴드 교체 ⛳⌚
어제 라운딩을 하다가 골프시계 밴드가 갑자기 떨어졌다.
더운 날씨에 땀을 많이 흘리니까 골프를 끝낸 후에는 밴드를 닦아놓아야 하는데, 아무 생각 없이 충전만 하고 계속 사용했더니 약 1년 만에 밴드가 나가버린 것이다.
그런데 정말 다행인 것은 카트에 앉아 있을 때 딱 떨어졌다는 것!
불행 중 다행, 아니 완전 불행 중 행운이었다. 😂
가방에 잘 넣어두었다가 오늘 아침에 교체하기로 했다.
마침 구매할 때 여분 밴드가 하나 더 들어 있었다.
그런데…
“어떻게 교체하는 거지?”
유튜브를 찾아봤다.
안경까지 쓰고 30분 넘게 씨름한 끝에…
교체 완료! 😂👏
별것 아닌 일이지만 혼자서 해냈다는 것이 꽤 뿌듯했다.
2. 6m 빨랫줄의 반전 😂
오래된 야외 빨랫줄도 드디어 교체하기로 했다.
쿠팡에서 주문했더니 새벽배송으로 도착했다.
아침 일찍, 더워지기 전에 교체해야겠다고 생각했다.
그런데 6m짜리 줄이면 당연히 충분할 줄 알았는데…
막상 설치하려고 보니
1m가 부족했다.
아차차! 😂😂😂
그런데 여기서 포기하지 않고 연결고리들을 차분히 살펴봤다.
그리고 생각했다.
“잠깐… 기존 줄의 새 부분을 잘라서 연결하면 되겠는데?”
뚝딱뚝딱.
혼자서 잘 연결해서 결국
멋진 야외 고정 빨랫줄 완성! 👏😂
와…
이게 왜 이렇게 재미있지?
3. 그리고 어제 차 안에서 생긴 작은 웃음 ❤️
어제 골프 라운딩을 마치고 세 명이 함께 차를 타고 집으로 돌아왔다.
운전하시는 분은 나보다 다섯 살 많으신 은퇴 교장 선생님이다.
오랜 세월 교육자로 살아오신 분이라 평소에도 정말 점잖고 차분하시고, 농담을 거의 하지 않으시는 분이다.
그런데 갑자기 자동차 네비 화면에 전화가 떴다.
나는 뒷좌석에 앉아 있었고, 조수석에 앉은 밴드장이 나를 보더니 조용히 네비 화면을 손가락으로 가리켰다.
발신인 이름은…
❤️ 0순이 ❤️
운전하고 계시던 분의 와이프였다. 😂
평소 그렇게 점잖고 농담도 거의 하지 않으시는 분의 화면에 ❤️ 0순이 ❤️가 딱 뜨니까…
우리는 정말 빵 터지고 말았다. 😂😂😂
나는 웃음을 참고 조용히 있다가 통화가 끝난 후 말했다.
“와~ 정말 로맨티시스트네요.
‘❤️ 0순이 ❤️’ 너무 멋지다.
그리고 와이프 목소리가 정말 intelligent하고 우아해서 너무 좋아요.”
그랬더니 운전하시던 친구가 너무 좋아하면서 와이프 이야기를 하기 시작했다.
한참 듣다가 내가 말했다.
“와, 조직생활 정말 잘하시네요.
결혼도 팀활동이죠. 😂
여자들은 이런 소소한 것에서 행복해요.
돈 들어가는 것도 아닌데 못할 게 뭐가 있어요.
많이 많이 해주세요.
두 분 정말 잘 살고 계시네요.”
차 안에서 우리는 또 한참을 웃었다. 😂
결국 오늘의 즐거움은?
생각해보니 세 가지 일이 모두 같은 이야기였다.
문제가 생겼다.
→ 한번 생각해봤다.
→ 배워봤다.
→ 직접 해봤다.
→ 해결했다.
→ 그리고 즐거웠다.
골프시계 밴드는 유튜브를 보면서 직접 교체하고,
6m 빨랫줄이 1m 부족하자 새로운 방법을 생각해서 직접 연결하고,
차 안에서는 작은 사랑의 표현 하나를 발견하고 함께 웃었다.
예전 같으면 이런 일들을 그냥 귀찮은 일이라고 생각했을지도 모르겠다.
하지만 지금은 다르다.
새로운 기술이 나오면 배우고,
새로운 기기가 생기면 사용해보고,
모르는 것은 유튜브와 AI에게 물어보고,
필요하면 직접 해본다.
Technology doesn’t replace life.
It makes life bigger.
내가 할 수 있는 것이 하나씩 늘어나니까 내 삶의 범위도 조금씩 넓어지는 느낌이다.
그리고 무엇보다…
“어? 이것도 내가 할 수 있네?”
이 순간이 참 재미있다. 😂
오늘의 소소한 즐거움
고장 난 골프시계 밴드 하나.
1m가 부족했던 6m 빨랫줄 하나.
연락처에 저장된 작은 하트 하나. ❤️
대단한 일은 아니다.
그런데 이상하게…
삶이 참 풍요롭게 느껴진다.
Age goes up.
