Fortunate to Have a Group Like This 이런 모임을 가져서 행운이다

There are many things in life that we don't fully appreciate until we stop and think about them.

A healthy morning.
A peaceful walk.
A cup of coffee.
A good round of golf.

And sometimes, a group of people who quietly become part of our life.

Recently, I found myself reflecting on a golf group that I have belonged to for years. There are only about ten members. Some might think that is a small number. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that ten is more than enough.

We know each other well.

We laugh together.

We tease each other without fear of misunderstanding.

Most importantly, we respect each other's personal lives.

No one tries to control anyone else. No one demands explanations for every decision. We simply enjoy spending time together and wish each other well.

That may sound ordinary, but I have come to realize that it is actually quite rare.

As we get older, finding people who share similar values becomes more difficult. It is easy to find people who play golf. It is much harder to find people who make you feel comfortable.

Golf has taught me that enjoyment does not come only from a good score.

Of course, a birdie is nice.

A great shot feels wonderful.

But years later, what we remember most are often the people.

The friends who walked the fairways with us.

The conversations between shots.

The laughter that made a difficult day feel lighter.

I have played with many different golfers over the years. Some were highly skilled. Some were not. Some personalities matched mine, and some did not.

What I have learned is simple:

Skill attracts attention.

Character builds relationships.

The people in this small group are not connected by scorecards. We are connected by mutual respect, kindness, and the simple joy of spending a few hours together.

Looking back, I realize that I had started to take this group for granted.

It felt normal.

It felt ordinary.

But perhaps that is exactly how life's greatest gifts often appear.

They become part of our routine, and because they are always there, we forget how valuable they are.

Today, I feel grateful.

Grateful for good friends.

Grateful for shared laughter.

Grateful for people who make life a little easier and a little brighter.

Ten people may not seem like a large group.

But when they are the right people, ten is more than enough.

In fact, it is a blessing.
