2026 BMW Ladies Championship in Korea — My Favorite Golfers and One Little Disappointment

This week, there is an LPGA tournament I have been looking forward to. It is the 2026 BMW Ladies Championship , held in Korea. I always enjoy watching world-class golfers compete, but there is something special about being able to watch them play in Korea. This year, players from the KLPGA Tour will also join the field, making the competition even more interesting. Tournament Schedule and Venue Tournament: 2026 BMW Ladies Championship Dates: October 22–25, 2026 Venue: Pine Beach Golf Links, Haenam, South Korea Total prize money: $2.35 million Winner’s share: $352,500 Format: 72-hole stroke play The tournament brings together top LPGA players and leading golfers from the KLPGA Tour. With no cut, the players will have four full rounds to show what they can do. I am looking forward to seeing how the competition unfolds. Sei Young Kim — Defending Her Title The first player who catches my attention is Sei Young Kim. She won last year’s tournament wire to wire, leading from the first r...

What on Earth Is Golf? - 골프는 도대체 무엇인가?

Thank Goodness I'm Not a Professional Golfer! Golf can drive you crazy. I really mean it. Today, I followed the final round of the Aramco Korea Championship. I was especially interested in two Korean players I like, Sung Hyun Park and Hyo Joo Kim. Unfortunately, they were hardly shown on TV. So, in the afternoon, I went to bed and enjoyed a good nap. (Smile) But when I saw the final results, I had several things to think about. Miyu Yamashita won the tournament with an amazing score of 22 under par. Hyo Joo Kim played a wonderful final round, shooting six under par. She finished at 13 under par and tied for seventh place. Sung Hyun Park finished at 10 under par. Although she did not win, she gave her fans some exciting moments to remember. She made an eagle on the 17th hole, a par-five, in both the second and third rounds! An eagle on the same hole two days in a row! Golf fans know how exciting that must have been. A birdie is wonderful, but an eagle brings a completely different k...

Aramco Korea Championship: Two Korean Stars I Will Be Watching - 아람코 코리아 챔피언십, 내가 특히 보고 싶은 두 명의 한국 선수

The 2026 Aramco Korea Championship begins today, October 8, at New Korea Country Club in Korea. This year feels a little different. The tournament has changed to a 72-hole individual stroke-play format , so there is no team competition this time. The 108-player field will compete over four days, with a $2 million prize fund. But for me, there are two Korean players I will be watching especially closely. Hyo Joo Kim and Sung Hyun Park. Sung Hyun Park — 7:44 a.m. Sung Hyun Park starts her first round at 7:44 a.m. from the 10th hole . She will play alongside Miyu Yamashita of Japan and Casandra Alexander , who is currently one of the leading players in the LET season. That is already an interesting group. Park is a former world No. 1 and a major champion. She is also one of those players who can make me stop what I am doing and watch golf. There is something about her presence on the course. Her powerful swing, confidence, and unmistakable style make her fun to watch even befo...

What Is LET? A Look at the Ladies European Tour in Korea - LET가 뭐지? 한국에서 열리는 여자골프 대회를 보다가

These days, I keep discovering new golf stories while watching professional golf. This time, I found myself wondering about something I had heard many times before: What exactly is LET? LET stands for the Ladies European Tour . I knew the name, but I had never really stopped to learn much about it. Then I noticed that the PIF Global Series is bringing the Aramco Korea Championship to Korea, and I became curious. So I decided to find out more. What Is the Ladies European Tour? The Ladies European Tour, or LET, is a professional women's golf tour that was founded in Europe. But today, LET is not limited to Europe. Its tournaments are held in different parts of the world, making it a truly international women's golf tour. It is a separate tour from the LPGA Tour, but the two tours are closely connected. Many players compete on both tours, and some major tournaments are shared between them. So when you watch women's professional golf, you may sometimes see a player on the LPG...

Golf Still Makes Me Cry - 골프가 나를 아직도 눈물나게 한다.

Today, I played nine holes with my golf band. The weather was beautiful, the course was green, and the sky was almost too blue to be real. And yes, I had a good day on the course. I even broke my personal best. But golf still made me struggle. For a while, I had been wondering why my backswing felt blocked. Today, during the round, I finally noticed something small in my left-hand grip. I had been holding the club with one finger more than I should have. It sounds like such a small thing. But in golf, a small thing can change everything. The club cannot move naturally. The hands change. The wrists change. The backswing changes. And before you know it, the whole swing feels different. I haven't completely fixed it yet. But now I know what I need to work on. That is one reason I still love golf. Golf can frustrate me, confuse me, and sometimes even make me want to cry. But it also keeps me curious. I watch great players like Hyo Joo Kim, Jin Young Ko, and Sung Hyun...

LPGA - Hyo Joo Kim: Two Golf Tournaments I Want to Watch This October - 김효주를 한 달에 두 번 만나는 골프의 즐거움

There is a golfer I especially enjoy watching. Her name is Hyo Joo Kim . And this October, I have two good reasons to watch golf in Korea. Hyo Joo Kim will be playing in both. The first one is the Aramco Korea Championship this week. Then, later this month, the BMW Ladies Championship will be held in Korea. I already know which player I will be watching. Hyo Joo Kim. A Special Tournament for Hyo Joo The 2026 Aramco Korea Championship will be held from October 8 to 11 at New Korea Country Club. It is not a KLPGA Tour event. It is a Ladies European Tour event and part of the PIF Global Series. But this tournament is especially interesting for Hyo Joo Kim. She won it in 2024. Then she won it again in 2025. Now she is back in 2026, trying to win it for the third time in a row. A three-peat. That makes this week's tournament even more interesting to me. I like these kinds of golf stories. Not only the world rankings or prize money, but the stories that build up between a player and a ...
