Why I’m Happier Today Than I Was Yesterday - 어제보다 오늘 내가 더 즐거운 이유

이미지
When I was young, I had so much energy. I did not always know how to manage my emotions, so sometimes I burned myself out with my own energy. Now I am 60. My emotions are calmer. I can think before I react. I can say YES when I want to, and NO when I don't. And I really like this version of myself. 😀💓💕 I still love people. I still love being playful. I still enjoy a little adventure. But now I know how to keep my balance. I can be alone. I can be with people. I can open my door a little. I can close it when I need to. I can make a mistake. I can change my mind. I can simply say, “Well, that was interesting.” 😂😁 Maybe that is why life feels more exciting these days. My life is not perfectly quiet. It moves. It surprises me. Sometimes it feels like a little roller coaster. But this time, I am not being dragged along. I am choosing to ride it. I do not need a perfect life. I just want a life that feels alive. So, today's verdict is simple. I love myself at this moment. Nobody...

Why I Check the Weather Forecast So Often - 내가 하루에 일기예보를 수시로 보는 이유

이미지
I check the weather forecast several times a day. Some people check the weather just because they want to know if it will rain. But I have a few more practical reasons. First, walking my dogs! Ruby and Rich wait for me to take them for a walk. But when it rains, things get a little complicated. I check the forecast to see when the rain might stop. A little later, I check it again. The weather in Jeju changes so often that I sometimes feel I need to check the forecast every few minutes! Laundry is another problem. I dry my clothes outside in the yard. If rain is coming, I have to decide whether to do the laundry or wait. If I hang the clothes outside and it starts raining, I feel unlucky. But if I don't do the laundry and it never rains, I feel a little sorry that I missed my chance. You can't win every time! 😀💗 And then, there's golf! Tomorrow, I'm playing a fun round of golf with some friends from my small golf group at Phantom CC, which is close to my home. Our tee ...

Small Changes in My Life Over the Past Year - 최근 1년간 나의 소소한 변화

Over the past year, I have noticed a few small changes in myself. Until last year, I rarely kept pain relief patches at home. Of course, I sometimes bought them when I really needed one. But I never thought about keeping them in the house. These days, however, I feel a little uncomfortable when I run out of them. It is almost like not having Tylenol in my medicine cabinet. So whenever I go to the pharmacy, I usually buy some patches to keep at home. I never paid much attention to these patches before. I thought I could simply wait a few days whenever my muscles felt tired or sore. But one day, I tried wearing a patch for a day after my muscles became tired. To my surprise, I felt much better the next day! Since then, I have changed my habit. Instead of putting up with muscle pain for several days, I use a patch when I need one. I guess I am learning to take better care of myself. My Body Needs a Little Rest, Too Recently, my golf shots were not going well, so I went to the driving rang...

I Have Come to See How Precious My Everyday Life Is - 나의 매일의 일상이 얼마나 귀한지 새삼 알게 된 요즘

Something a little surprising has been happening lately. About 400 to 500 people now visit my blog every day. A few days ago, I had more than 500 visitors in one day for the first time. And yesterday, it happened again. My second 500-plus day. 😊 When I started this blog, I never expected anything like this. I simply wanted to write about my life. My life in Jeju. Golf. Swimming. My dogs, Ruby and Rich. Small things that happen during my day. And, of course, my thoughts about turning 60. At first, it was just like keeping a diary. But little by little, people started coming. People from Korea, the United States, France, Singapore, the UK, and other places have been reading my stories. Sometimes I think, “So, the ordinary life I am living every day has become a story that someone wants to read.” That thought makes me very grateful. When I turned 60, I thought life might become a little boring. I had already tried most of the things I wanted to try. I have never been a person with huge a...
