Even Tiger Hits Bad Shots - 심지어 Tiger도 안좋은 샷을 한다.

People often tell me,

"If you played from the red tees, you'd probably be a single-digit golfer."

I always laugh and reply,

"I'm not so sure about that."

Then I usually add,

"Honestly, I'm happy playing bogey golf."

And with another smile,

"Besides... if I become a single-digit golfer, my friends might stop liking me!"

Everyone laughs.

Of course, I enjoy playing well.

I work on my swing, practice regularly, and always try my best.

But golf has never been the purpose of my life.

It's simply one of the greatest joys in my life.

Sometimes, I get paired with golfers I've never met before.

Many of them become frustrated after one bad shot.

"I can't believe I did that."

"My swing is falling apart today."

Instead of giving swing advice, I simply smile and say,

"Even Tiger hits bad shots."

That one sentence often changes the atmosphere.

People smile again.

They relax.

And sometimes, their very next shot is much better.

As a USGTF teaching professional, I certainly enjoy helping people improve.

But on the golf course, not every bad shot needs a lesson.

Sometimes, it just needs a little encouragement.

People often tell me,

"You make everyone feel comfortable."

That may be one of the greatest compliments I've ever received.

I don't want golf to become heavier than joy.

I want people to remember the laughter more than the score.

If everyone goes home smiling after four hours together,

I think we all had a successful round.

Today's Verdict

Golf is one of the joys of my life, not the purpose of my life.

Even Tiger hits bad shots.

So let's smile, enjoy the next shot, and be grateful for another beautiful day on the course.
