Why I Keep Sharing My Imperfect Stories -
For many years, I believed that the second half of life should become quieter.
I thought peace meant protecting my small world.
Living simply.
Enjoying golf.
Taking care of Ruby and Rich.
Reading books.
Growing vegetables.
That seemed like enough.
If you had asked me ten years ago whether I would openly share my mistakes with the world, my answer would have been simple.
"Never."
Back then, I would have shared only my good shots, my achievements, and my successes.
The rest would have stayed hidden.
But something changed this year.
When I turned sixty, I didn't just grow older.
I changed the direction of my life.
Instead of asking,
"How can I protect my peace?"
I started asking,
"How can my experiences help someone else?"
That one question changed everything.
Today, many people post perfect moments on social media.
Beautiful trips.
Beautiful swings.
Beautiful lives.
There's nothing wrong with that.
But I've discovered that perfect stories rarely stay with us for very long.
Honest stories do.
That's why I shared the embarrassing photo of my golf swing.
That's why I wrote about the golf ball quietly falling off the tee before a shot.
That's why I even write about pulling weeds around my Hwangchil trees.
Those moments are not interruptions to my life.
They are my life.
Yesterday, one of my golf partners surprised me.
He asked why I had been removing weeds around my Hwangchil trees.
For a second, I wondered how he knew that.
Then I realized...
He had been quietly reading my blog.
He wasn't only following my golf stories.
He was following my journey.
Honestly, I felt a little embarrassed.
My blog is very personal.
I write about my mistakes.
My doubts.
My small discoveries.
But yesterday reminded me of something important.
People don't always need another success story.
Sometimes they simply need to know that someone else is learning, too.
I don't believe happiness comes from living a perfect life.
I believe happiness grows when we stop hiding our imperfections and begin learning from them.
Every mistake teaches us something.
Every lesson makes us a little stronger.
Every honest story creates another human connection.
Perhaps that is why I keep writing.
Not because I have figured life out.
But because I'm still learning how to live it well.
And if a younger person reads one of my stories and realizes that mistakes are not something to hide, but something to learn from...
Then opening my life was the right decision.
For a long time, I thought I had to hide part of who I was in order to live peacefully.
But I finally realized that peace doesn't come from hiding my true nature.
It comes from living in harmony with it.
KR Summary
Today's Verdict
I'm not documenting a perfect life.
I'm documenting how an ordinary person learns to become happier.
I'm writing because I'm still learning how to live it well.
