The Day I Danced Tango on the Fairway - 골프장 페어웨이에서 탱고춤을 춘 날😂⛳

Yesterday, I suddenly ended up playing a round at Raon CC because there was a 50% green fee discount for a last-minute round.

The three friends I played with are all very close friends, so we started the round in a relaxed and happy mood.

The weather was nice, and Raon CC is a relatively easy and comfortable course to play. It is a little long, though, so making birdies is not always easy.

One of my friends had been going through a bit of a golf slump for a while. But yesterday, something changed.

Her shots suddenly became much more stable, and her good shots came back.

So every time she hit a great shot, we shouted,

“Nice shot!”

and enjoyed the round together.

Then, on one hole, two of my friends hit their balls into the bushes. They went all the way to the other side of the fairway with the caddie to look for their balls.

Meanwhile, my friend and I were waiting in the cart.

Suddenly, she pointed to the middle of the fairway and said,

“Stand right there.”

So I stood there.

And she started taking pictures.

“Try this pose.”

“Now this one.”

“Jump!”

“Put your hands up!”

Before I knew it, I was jumping around in the middle of the fairway and throwing my arms in the air like I was celebrating something. 😂

Then the caddie and the other two friends finally came back.

The caddie looked at us and laughed.

“What on earth are you doing? On the golf course?!” 😂

We explained that we had been waiting so long that we started taking pictures because we were getting bored.

Actually, it was a perfect spot for photos.

There were two huge wind turbines standing beautifully on both sides of the green.

And, of course, there was one very important detail:

Our balls were sitting perfectly in the middle of the fairway. 😂⛳

So we had plenty of time to have fun.

I think when your golf shots become more stable, you suddenly have more room to enjoy everything else.

When your game is struggling, you are too busy thinking about the next shot.

But when your shots feel good, you can notice the scenery, joke around with your friends, take pictures—and apparently even dance tango in the middle of the fairway. 😂

My friend had also started taking lots of photos recently, around the same time her golf started getting better again.

Maybe she remembered how I had taken several photos of her good shots and finishes before and shared them with everyone.

Yesterday, she returned the favor by taking lots of pictures of me.

It was such a fun and happy round.

Good shots, good friends, beautiful scenery, lots of laughter—

and a little unexpected tango on the fairway. 😂⛳

어제는 갑자기 라온 CC 번개 라운딩이 생겼다.
마침 50% 그린피 할인까지 있어서, 정말 갑작스럽게 골프를 치게 되었다.

함께 라운딩한 세 명은 모두 아주 친한 친구들이라 부담 없이 가벼운 마음으로 골프를 시작했다.

날씨도 괜찮았고, 라온 CC는 비교적 평이해서 편안하게 칠 수 있는 골프장이다. 다만 코스가 조금 긴 편이라 버디를 잡기는 쉽지 않다.

그런데 어제는 한 친구의 샷이 눈에 띄게 좋아졌다.

한동안 골프 슬럼프를 겪으면서 힘든 시간을 보내고 있었는데, 어제는 샷이 정말 많이 안정되었고 예전에 보여주던 좋은 샷들이 다시 나오기 시작했다.

그래서 우리는 좋은 샷이 나올 때마다

“나이스 샷!”

을 크게 외치며 신나게 골프를 했다. 😂

그러던 어느 홀에서 두 명의 공이 덤불 쪽으로 들어갔다.

두 사람은 반대쪽 페어웨이 끝까지 가서 캐디 언니와 함께 공을 찾기 시작했고, 나와 한 친구는 카트에서 계속 기다리고 있었다.

그런데 갑자기 그 친구가 페어웨이 한가운데를 가리키며 말했다.

“여기서 한번 서봐요.”

나는 별생각 없이 페어웨이 가운데에 섰다.

그런데 갑자기 사진을 찍기 시작했다.

“이렇게 해봐요.”
“이번에는 저렇게 해봐요.”
“조금만 더 앞으로!”

나는 시키는 대로 포즈를 취하다가 결국 페어웨이 한가운데서 폴짝폴짝 뛰기도 하고, 두 팔을 번쩍 들고 만세도 했다.

골프장 페어웨이에서 대체 내가 지금 뭘 하고 있는 건지 나도 모르겠다. 😂

그렇게 한참을 놀고 있는데, 마침 공을 찾던 캐디 언니와 나머지 두 친구가 카트로 돌아왔다.

캐디 언니가 우리 모습을 보더니 웃으면서 말했다.

“도대체 뭐 하시는 거예요? ^^ 골프장 페어웨이에서!”

우리는 너무 오래 기다리다 지루해서 사진을 찍고 있었다고 설명했다.

사실 그 홀이 사진 찍기에 꽤 좋은 곳이었다.

그린 양옆으로 거대한 풍력 터빈이 멋지게 서 있었기 때문이다.

그리고 무엇보다 중요한 사실 하나.

우리 두 사람의 공은 이미 페어웨이 정가운데에 아주 멋지게 안착해 있었다. ㅎㅎ

그러니 이렇게 한가롭게 사진을 찍을 여유가 있었던 것이다.

생각해보면 골프 샷이 안정되면 이런저런 여유도 함께 생기는 것 같다.

골프가 잘 안 될 때는 다음 샷 생각하느라 정신이 없는데, 샷이 안정되면 주변 풍경도 보이고, 친구들과 농담도 하고, 사진도 찍고, 심지어 페어웨이 한가운데서 만세까지 할 수 있다. 😂

그리고 재미있는 것은 그 친구가 어느 날부터 라운딩 중 사진을 많이 찍기 시작했을 때가 마침 샷이 다시 좋아지기 시작한 시기였다는 것이다.

아마 예전에 내가 그 친구의 좋은 샷과 멋진 피니시를 여러 장 찍어서 동반자들에게 보내주었던 것이 기억났던 것 같다.

이번에는 그 친구가 내 사진을 열심히 찍어준 셈이다.

골프를 치러 갔다가
사진도 찍고,
웃기도 하고,
서로의 좋은 샷을 축하해주고,
친구의 회복된 샷을 함께 기뻐했던 하루.

골프가 꼭 잘 쳐야만 재미있는 것은 아닌 것 같다.

좋은 친구들과 함께라면
페어웨이 한가운데에서 탱고춤(?)을 춰도 즐겁다. 😂⛳

참 재미있고 고마운 라운딩이었다.

 “What a beautiful hole!”

 “And then… this happened.”

Apparently, this is what you do when your ball is safely in the middle of the fairway. 😂⛳  (공이 페어웨이 한가운데 잘 있으면 사람이 이렇게 한가해집니다)

        

Today's Verdict

My body may not be in its 20s anymore.
It aches a little today, and the typhoon wind is not helping. 😂

But my heart?
Still in my 20s.

Still curious.
Still excited.
Still looking forward to what comes next.

Maybe that's what growing older really means.
The body slows down a little, but the heart doesn't have to.

Age goes up.
Curiosity stays.
The heart keeps swinging. 😂⛳❤️
