The Little Joys I Found on Today’s Golf Round After 60 ⛳- 60 이후 오늘 라운딩에서의 쏠쏠한 행복

Today was one of those days that made me realize:

Golf season is finally here!

After such a hot summer, the weather was absolutely beautiful. It wasn’t too hot, there was a gentle breeze, and the clouds kept the sunlight from getting too strong.

It was simply perfect for golf.

Before the first hole, while I was getting ready to take the cart, one of my golf friends quietly came over and said,

“I have something for you.”

He handed me this adorable little golf ball carrier that holds two balls.

The funny thing was that he had noticed me carrying two golf balls in my pants pocket during our previous round.

He had said,

“Your pocket is all bulky. That doesn’t look good. I’ll give you something to carry them in.”

I had laughed and said,

“Oh, it’s okay. Really.”

But he remembered.

And today, he actually brought one for me.

I thought it was so cute and thoughtful.

Of course, I immediately put two golf balls inside and showed him. 😂

Maybe this is one of the little joys of life.

Not a big gift.

Not an expensive gift.

Just someone remembering something you casually mentioned before.

And somehow, that makes it special.

Today was also a surprisingly good golf day for me.

Before the first hole, I told the caddie,

“If my driver feels stable on the white tee, I’ll stay there. If it doesn’t, I’ll move down to the red tee from the second hole.”

But my driver and fairway wood were working pretty well today.

Not 100% perfect, but maybe about 80% of my usual ability. 😂

That was good enough for me to stay on the white tees all day.

And then the fun really began.

We had a new player join us today. He was an experienced golfer and a single-digit player, and he could hit the ball a long way.

But he hadn’t played for about 20 days because he had been receiving treatment, so he said he felt a little nervous about his shots.

I told him,

“Don’t worry. Just think of today as a practice round. We’re a fun golf group.”

And apparently, he took that seriously.

😂

Throughout the round, whenever one of my shots wasn’t perfect, I simply said,

“I’ll hit another one.”

If the direction was a little off,

“At least the contact felt great!”

And if a long putt didn’t go in,

“For an amateur, that was good enough!”

I just kept smiling.

The caddie laughed.

Everyone laughed.

And PD and I kept teasing each other because our sense of humor matches so well.

At one point, PD said,

“I was trying to hit a draw, but it didn’t draw.”

So I shouted,

“You can’t even hit it straight! What are you talking about—draw or fade?!”

😂😂😂

The whole cart exploded with laughter.

The caddie said,

“You’re so honest. I don’t even know what to say!”

There was another funny little competition going on between PD and me.

After I hit my driver, PD would loudly announce to everyone,

“My ball better not be behind Angie’s!”

Then one hole, our balls landed almost in exactly the same place.

PD checked the distance and shouted,

“I’m 10 centimeters ahead!”

He looked unbelievably happy. 😂

So I shouted back,

“Okay, you did great!”

But when we checked the score at the end…

PD — 87
Angie — 91

😂

Okay. PD really did beat me today.

And 87 was actually a great score for him because he doesn’t often break 90.

So I sent him the scorecard and wrote,

“Congratulations, PD! You beat me today. 87!”

He replied,

“Six of one, half a dozen of the other. 😂”

So I told him,

“Still, you’re going to be happy about that score for at least a week. 😂”

And I congratulated him in our group chat, too.

I didn’t even mention that I shot 91 from the white tees.

Today was simply PD’s day to celebrate. 😊

And then came another wonderful moment.

The new player ended up shooting…

80.

Yes.

80!

After not playing for 20 days.

A single-digit round on his first day back.

At the end of the round, he said something that made me smile.

“I’ve never played such a fun round of golf in my life.”

That may have been my favorite compliment of the day.

Because today wasn’t really about playing perfect golf.

It was about laughing.

Laughing at our mistakes.

Celebrating each other’s good shots.

Teasing each other.

And simply enjoying being outside on a beautiful golf day.

Even when the caddie accidentally dropped my driver onto the cart path and scratched it, I just laughed and said,

“It’s okay. Even a Ferrari becomes a used car once you drive it.” 😂

Of course, my heart hurt a little.

I love that driver.

But people make mistakes.

That’s life.

On the way home, I thought about how differently I see golf now.

When I was younger, I probably thought that playing well was the main source of happiness.

But golf after 60 feels different.

A beautiful day makes me happy.
A solid driver makes me happy.
A tiny gift from a thoughtful friend makes me happy.
A friend being excited about being 10 centimeters ahead makes me laugh.
A friend shooting 87 makes me happy.
And watching a new player enjoy himself so much makes the whole round worthwhile.

Maybe these are the little joys I’ve discovered after 60.

I don’t need a perfect score.

I don’t need perfect shots.

I just need a good day, good people, a few good swings—

and lots of laughter.

Today, I played golf.

Today, I laughed a lot.

And today, I discovered another little piece of happiness after 60.

Maybe that’s what a good life looks like. ⛳😊

KR Version

“A little golf gift from a thoughtful friend.
Two golf balls, and a little bit of friendship. ⛳🎁”

Today's Verdict
The older I get, the more I realize that happiness doesn’t always come in big packages.
Sometimes, it comes as a small gift, a good laugh, a friend who makes you smile, or a golf ball landing just 10 centimeters ahead. 😂⛳
And when these little moments gather together, life becomes surprisingly joyful.
I’m simply grateful.
