Two Things That Excite Me These Days - 요즘 나를 설레게 하는 두 가지
I used to think that after turning 60, I wouldn’t have many reasons to feel excited about tomorrow.
But lately, I’ve been looking forward to tomorrow more than I expected.
There are actually two things that make me excited these days.
One is golf.
The other is my blog. ⛳🌏
First — My Next Golf Shot
I had so much fun practicing golf today.
For a while, my 5-wood hadn’t been working well during my rounds.
Last year, I could hit my 5-wood about 170 meters with a really satisfying strike. But at some point, I lost that feeling.
I couldn’t figure out exactly why.
Today, though, I think I finally found a small clue.
I started to understand when to add power and when to relax, how my shoulders and body should rotate, and how everything should come together at impact.
Of course, I still hit some bad shots today. 😂
But strangely, that made practice even more fun.
I thought,
“Maybe I can finally solve this swing puzzle.”
I have no idea whether today’s new feeling will show up in tomorrow’s round.
Maybe I’ll hit some beautiful shots.
Maybe I won’t. 😂
And that is exactly why I’m looking forward to tomorrow.
How will my 5-wood fly tomorrow?
Someday, I hope I can make a full swing that feels smooth and confident, without pushing my body too hard, and watch the ball fly exactly the way I imagined.
Just thinking about that makes me smile.
Second — My Blog Visitors
These days, checking my blog visitor count in the morning has become another little source of excitement.
Today, there are 390 visitors.
Honestly, when I started my blog, I never realistically imagined this would happen.
My posts are not really anything extraordinary.
I simply write about my ordinary life.
When I become curious about something in golf, I look it up.
When I come across an English expression I want to understand, I learn about it.
When I wonder about the PGA and LPGA, I compare them.
I write about gardening, golf, my dogs, good food, small discoveries, and the little thoughts that come to me during an ordinary day.
I never started this blog to show people a glamorous or extraordinary life.
But somehow, people from different parts of the world have started stopping by.
From the United States, Brazil, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, and many other places…
People are reading about my simple little life here in Jeju.
It still feels a little amazing to me.
So these days, I find myself wondering about the visitor count per day. 😂
Today, it was 390.
So how many people will stop by tomorrow?
Sometimes, I find that more interesting than watching the stock market. 😂📈
But the number itself is not what matters most.
What really makes me grateful is knowing that
someone, somewhere, took a little time to read my words.
I wrote down an ordinary day that might otherwise have simply passed by, and someone on the other side of the world read it.
That means a lot to me.
I Never Meant to Write Anything Extraordinary
When I think about it, there really isn’t anything extraordinary about my blog.
It is simply one person living her life—
learning golf, studying English, looking things up when she gets curious, growing things in her garden, walking with her dogs, laughing, thinking, and enjoying the little things along the way.
And yet, people are interested in these ordinary moments.
That feels like a small miracle to me.
So today, before I talk about numbers, I simply want to say:
Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to visit my little blog.
Thank you for reading my ordinary little stories.
And thank you for learning and discovering things with me as I explore the questions that come up in my everyday life.

60이 지나면 ‘내일이 설렌다’는 말을 별로 하지 않게 될 줄 알았다.
그런데 요즘은 이상하게 내일이 조금 기다려진다.
나를 설레게 하는 것이 두 가지나 생겼기 때문이다.
하나는 골프이고,
다른 하나는 내 블로그다. ⛳🌏
첫 번째 설렘 — 내일의 골프샷
오늘 골프 연습이 정말 재미있었다.
한동안 라운딩에 가면 5번 우드의 임팩트가 제대로 나오지 않았다.
작년에는 5번 우드로 170m를 시원하게 날리기도 했는데, 어느 순간부터 공이 예전처럼 맞지 않았다.
도대체 왜 그런지 정확히 알 수 없어서 조금 답답했는데, 오늘 연습하면서 그 이유에 대한 작은 실마리를 발견했다.
스윙할 때 언제 힘을 주고, 언제 힘을 빼야 하는지,
어깨와 몸의 회전은 어떻게 이루어져야 하는지,
그리고 임팩트 순간에는 어떻게 해야 하는지…
조금씩 감이 잡히기 시작했다.
물론 오늘도 미스샷은 있었다. 😂
하지만 이상하게 재미있었다.
“아, 내가 아직 이 스윙의 숙제를 풀 수 있겠구나.”
하는 생각이 들었기 때문이다.
내일 라운딩에서 오늘 발견한 임팩트가 그대로 나올지는 나도 모른다.
잘 맞을 수도 있고, 또 엉뚱하게 맞을 수도 있다.
그런데 바로 그것 때문에 내일이 기다려진다.
내일은 과연 내 5번 우드가 얼마나 편안하고 시원하게 날아갈까?
몸을 무리시키지 않으면서도 자신 있게 풀스윙을 하고, 공이 멋지게 날아가는 날.
언젠가는 그런 날이 오겠지.
그 생각만 해도 조금 설렌다. 😊
두 번째 설렘 — 내일의 블로그 방문자
요즘은 아침에 블로그 방문자 숫자를 보는 것도 작은 즐거움이 되었다.
오늘 방문하신분 390.
솔직히 블로그를 시작할 때는 이렇게 될 거라고 현실적으로 생각하지 못했다.
내 게시글은 사실 별것이 없다.
그냥 내가 사는 소박한 일상을 쓴다.
골프를 하다가 궁금한 것이 생기면 찾아본다.
영어를 공부하다가 궁금한 표현이 있으면 확인해본다.
PGA와 LPGA가 궁금하면 비교해본다.
텃밭에서 무언가를 심고, 골프를 치고, 강아지들과 산책하고, 맛있는 것을 먹고…
그날그날 내가 궁금했던 것과 내가 느낀 것을 그냥 기록한다.
특별한 삶을 보여주려고 시작한 것도 아니다.
그런데 어느 순간부터 세계 여러 나라에서 사람들이 찾아오기 시작했다.
미국에서, 브라질에서, 중국에서, 독일에서, 영국에서…
그리고 내가 살고 있는 작은 제주에서의 소박한 하루를 누군가가 읽어주고 있다.
참 신기하다.
그래서 요즘은 하루 방문자 숫자가 조금 궁금해진다. 😂
오늘 390분.
“그럼 내일은 몇 분이 찾아올까?”
주식 상승률을 보는 것보다 더 재미있을 때도 있다. 😂📈
하지만 숫자보다 더 고마운 것은 따로 있다.
누군가가 시간을 내어 내 글을 읽어주었다는 것.
내가 그냥 지나칠 수도 있었던 작은 하루를 기록했는데,
세계 어딘가에 있는 누군가가 그 이야기를 읽어주었다는 것.
그 사실이 참 고맙다.
특별한 이야기를 쓰려고 한 것이 아닌데
생각해보면 내 블로그에는 대단한 이야기가 별로 없다.
그저 한 사람이 하루를 살아가면서
골프를 배우고, 영어를 공부하고, 궁금한 것을 찾아보고,
텃밭을 가꾸고, 강아지들과 산책하고,
때로는 웃고, 때로는 생각하고…
그렇게 살아가는 이야기다.
그런데 그 평범한 이야기에 관심을 가져주는 사람들이 있다는 것이 요즘 나에게는 작은 기적처럼 느껴진다.
그래서 오늘은 숫자보다 먼저 이 말을 남기고 싶다.
내 블로그를 찾아와 주시는 모든 분들께 진심으로 감사합니다.
