I Have Only Cried Really Hard Twice in My Life - 나는 평생 딱 두 번, 정말 많이 울었다

I’m not someone who never cries.

I sometimes tear up when I watch a sad movie or see someone going through a difficult time.

But when something happens to me, I become much stronger.

I usually tell myself,

“Don’t cry. Get yourself together.”

And then I do what I need to do.

But there were only two times in my life when I really, really cried.

The first time was when I was a freshman in college.

I had been dating my first love for about a year, and then we broke up.

I cried a lot.

The second time was much later.

I had a little Yorkshire Terrier who lived with me for eight years.

She became very sick and had to receive IV fluids. Eventually, she crossed the rainbow bridge.

At first, I didn’t cry.

I held everything inside for weeks.

Then one day, a friend told me,

“If you’re too sad, just cry.”

A few days later, I was walking outside when suddenly, all my emotions came out.

I started sobbing loudly right there on the street.

People passing by probably thought,

“What happened to that woman?”

But I didn’t care.

I just cried.

It was the first time I had really let myself cry after losing her.

Since then, I haven’t cried that hard again.

I still tear up easily when I see someone else suffering.

But when my own life gets difficult, I somehow become stronger.

I can be sad.

I can have a hard time.

I can even fall apart for a little while.

But eventually, I get back up and do what I need to do.

Sometimes my battery is completely drained.

Then I tell myself,

“Wait. Who is Angie?”

And somehow, I get back on my feet again. 😂

When I think about it, maybe I’m not a very strong person.

Maybe I’m just someone with a soft heart who has learned to live with a strong mind.

And I want to keep living that way.

Cry when I need to cry.

Laugh loudly when I’m happy.

And get back up when it’s time to stand again.

Until the day I become a cute old lady. 🌱💕

My Little Angel, My Beloved Daughter

My little Yorkshire Terrier was a beautiful and clever girl. I named her Angel after my English name.

We spent eight wonderful years together. She was so small that I always held her close in my arms and carried her with me. Maybe that is why saying goodbye to her was even more painful.

She passed away in my arms, and I try to find a little comfort in that. I hope she is no longer in pain in heaven. I hope she is still full of energy, just like her strong and lively personality, and that she will be happy forever.

It has been almost ten years since she went to heaven, but whenever I think of her, so many beautiful memories come back to me. I still miss her so much.

When she left me, she suddenly developed sepsis. She received IV treatment for about five days before we said our final goodbye. Everything happened so quickly.

Even now, I sometimes comfort myself by saying that I did everything I could for her.

I loved her with all my heart, and I will always miss my little Angel.

KR Version

Looking at this picture, I remember how much I loved decorating my little Angel.

I have always kept my hair short, so I hardly ever bought pretty hairpins or hair ties for myself. But for Angel, I tried all kinds of cute hair accessories! 😂

I guess I enjoyed making my little daughter look like a princess more than making myself look pretty.

She was such a lovely little girl, and I still miss her so much. 💕
